  • Very capable

Compared to other similar B450 boards, the biggest plus is that M.2 slots don't share bandwidth with the PCIe lanes as most other brands do. This means the PCIe sockets can be used at the same time as the two M.2 slots. Instead, the Gigabyte M.2 slots share bandwidth with SATA ports. That may or may not be an issue for the individual, but it works well for me, gives the greatest flexibility when using the M.2 slots (you could always add a PCIe SATA controller for example). For boards sharing PCIe lanes with M.2, you would get 6 SATA slots plus 2x M.2 slots, but no additional PCIe slots for example. Too bad if you want another PCIe card.

  • A Good Performer

Has been running now for a couple of weeks, performs well & has been trouble free. If you are upgrading like I was you will have need to check & see if your existing power supply has and eight pin ATX 12V socket, mine only had a 4 pin (would not run on it) so I had to change the power supply as well. A simple enough operation. I had had my old Gigabyte motherboard for 10 years & I hope I get the same type of reliability out of this new one.
