Brilliant Sound quality, flawless performance!

Exceeded expectations
Excellent sound quality along with easy setup make this a first rate AV Receiver. I was in awe with the quality of the surround sound as it was an order of magnitude better than my 8 year old 7.2 Yamaha amp. The setup assistant was straightforward and easy to follow. It easily connected to the Wi-Fi and the ARC HDMI from the TV worked flawlessly. My only issue was the with the auto sound calibration but I found it easy to set things up manually; And to be honest got a much better result. Surround processing is stellar.
I have two music/home theater rooms in my house one has the Marantz, the other has a Sunfire Ultimate receiver. Being a music guy I found the music performance of the Sunfire to be superior. It just has a more open sound, great music separation and dynamics. Not being much of a home theater geek I hadn't tested the Marantz for its theater performance and my opinion of the two units was soley based on music performance. Well, last night I decided to play an action movie on the Marantz. Wow, the Home Theater performance is simply stetlar. The surround processing shines, the channel separation is incredible. My apologies to Marantz for my initial disparaging comments on a previous review. The receiver is very Aesthetically pleasing. It's fairly easy to set up and sounds great.
The receiver looks very nice and fairly easy to set up. I do however wish the little window in the front was bigger so you can actually see something. Overall the receiver is aesthetically pleasing, and the sound quality is great. Worth the Money
A Great Value for the price. The built in amplifier is not as powerful as I would like. Overall I am pleased and do like the reciever just wish it had more power.
