    Makita works hard

I’ve used Makita 18 V platform for about 10 years. Before that, i used Dewalt 18 V. I am a professional plumber and my tools get used. I also have a home shop where I work with wood, stone, and metal. Makita always performs at or beyond my expectations. I have a Milwaukee 12 V platform only for several very valuable Plumbing specific items unique to Milwaukee. Because I value Makita so much, I don’t go full Milwaukee. Their tools perform very well and their batteries are long lasting as well as fast charging. Something I’ve learned: Makita as well as most large power tool manufacturers have different lines and calibers of tools ranging from lighter duty to the heaviest duty use. Make sure you know what you are getting when you purchase. If somethings seems like an ultra great deal, check the model number.

    Poor quality!!

I've used Makita for the past twenty years but this is the second Makita impact in a row I've had go bad with the same problem. The trigger will work sporadically. First drill lasted a few months but this drill lasted a few weeks of occasional use. Poor quality. Won't buy another Makita drill!!

  • It's a Makita

It's a Makita, professional quality, works every time, great battery life, basically indestructible, works as good or better than many other similar spec tools that are twice or more expensive. Very small and light weight but is a powerhouse. Drove 3" screws through 4" of solid wood no problem. Put it in T mode and didn't even drill pilot holes, it just went like butter. Did about 50 straight this way. If you are looking for an impact driver, this one is extremely good, light, and well worth it. Buy cheap, get cheap, but these are also very reasonably priced for a professional workhorse type of tool. You might not think you need one this powerful, but trust me, you will eventually. Then you will be glad you didn't buy the cheap one.

  • Tiny powerhouse

A must have for all homeowners or anyone working with power tool. This driver is super compact with tons of power. There’s 3 speed and a T mode that adjust the speed accordingly. The light is pretty bright and handy. I highly recommend this little monster.

  • Versatile Drill

I just installed a 12x15 sub-floor in my attic by screwing 1x10x12ft wood planks to the joists using this very versatile and powerful drill. While I chose to drill pilot holes before attaching the self-drilling screws using the lowest rpm, I tried attaching a few screws without the pilot hole using a higher rpm. It worked great. Also, the LED beam not only made it easy to locate the proper placement of each screw, but it enabled me to see exactly when each screw head was flush with the surface of the wood so I could cease drilling. I would not have been able to be so precise under normal lighting conditions. I might also add that the light weight and balance of this drill made the job physically easy, and the low noise levels at the speeds with which I used the drill did not require the use of ear plugs. In conclusion, I love this drill so much that I'm actually looking for other around-the-house projects just so I can use the drill.

  • Well designed

This is a well-designed driver. You can set it on low speed so drilling is possible too. The speed/torque button is the key. And at high torque, it has driven everything I have thrown at it.

  • Love it

Great little impact. Short nose. Small & powerful. This is the US version. 3 speeds for driving deck screws & lags, 2nd setting for drywall screws & 3rd for installing cabinet hardware. I’m considering getting 2nd one for home use.

  • Good value

I had been researching for quite some time impact drivers. I've had a 12 volt Hitachi for years that has served me very very well. The reason I upgraded is my batteries are beginning to need replaced, and I desired a little bit more power four deck building. I've used this driver for about 3 weeks and really liked it. I haven't yet tasked its full strength. And going from 12 volt to 18 volt is a bit of a weight change for me. But overall a very good impact driver. It tends to be a little bit bottom heavy at the battery so it won't stay secure in my holster. But the belt clip makes a huge convenience. Two things that I would like to see on it are a magnetic strip for holding a few screws or possibly some driver tips, since it seems like there's a variation between Torx, Phillips, and standard, let alone any socket sizes. And an spring ejection for the tips when you press to release it. The LED light is bright but doesn't illuminate tight workspaces really well because of being underneath. I've seen designs that have multiple lights and circling the driver, this seems much more effective. The determining factor for me to get this impact driver was that I already have a full set of Makita tools. Otherwise I was very closely looking at the nice DeWalt drivers. But I am happy with this purchase.

  • Love it!

Great Makita quality with wonderful features. The multi speed brushless motor helps when driving into different materials such as hard vs soft wood.

  • The best sub $100 makita impact driver.

Great impact driver. If you've only got a drill driver; it's a huge upgrade. The speed settings give an enormous amount of control. I can put in tiny machine screws with no worries.
