  • A book everyone interested in the natural world should read.

I loved this book. Having been very interested in the Knepp experiment since I first heard about it, I was delighted that this book had been written. And it hasn't disappointed. The format is accessible and the content well written. The story of the journey Isabella and Charlie took to come to the decision to re/wild their land is interesting and the results of their decision are fascinating. Having already read around the subject of re/wilding, I was pleased that the book had a lot of fresh insight to offer. When it covered areas I was already familiar with I appreciated the clear and succinct manner in which the information was presented. I hope this book sells extremely well. Within it holds a stand of hope for humanity, the future and the planet.

  • Great title

Beautifully written, informative and passionate. I learned a lot about farming history and today's problems, about the role of science and the triumph of trusting in nature rather than trying to predict everything. This book should become a modern classic.

  • Everyone with any concern for our world should read this book. It is ground breaking and optimistic and also a damn good read!

This is a must read book for anyone who thinks that modern farming practices are good for us and the world. The myth that modern agriculture protects the environment and farmers are the custodians of our landscapes and wildlife is exploded and an alternative way of managing our food production is set out with clarity and optimism. It is a very readable and engaging account of a farm business that took a courageous decision to radically change its farming practices with dramatic benefits both for the environment and the viability of the business. A true win - win that has resulted in returning wildlife and sustainable food production and that provides a blueprint for all agricultural practices in the UK and beyond. I heartily recommend this book and the messages it contains.

  • Rewilding

Hurrah...no nonsense common sense....back to the future approach to Countryside management and appreciation of how the jigsaw all fits together....rewilding and reawakening before it is too late! Fabulous informative well written book overflowing with mans endless short sighted blunders regarding how we have ever increasingly abused our rural habitats plus delightful detailed examples and stories of how, by attempting to relocate all the missing cogs in the wheel, we can Slowly encourage and bring back balance and a thriving biodiversity to our fields , woodlands rivers, and hedgerows Shocking, humbling but most wonderfully inspiring.

  • Revolutionary and inspiring land management that really works.

A superb book - approachable, compelling, authoritative. A great practical companion to George Monbiot's 'Feral', this work exposes our headlong rush to ruin our food, landscape, health and wildlife, yet inspires us to change our approach with a new way to manage our land that actually works. Couldn't put it down.

  • A must read for environmentalists, farmers and anyone interested in stopping the massive decline in wildlife in our country.

Isabella Tree tells the remarkable story of how she and her husband turned a failing 3000 acre farm into a haven for wildlife byt letting nature take its course. A must read for anyone who worries about the spectacular decline in our native wildlife species.

  • an excellent overview of current environmental problems and one possible solution

A thought provoking insight into the problems of this modern age. Entertaining isn't exactly the most apt word, but very easy to read and providing a lot of important data to digest and consider
