Very sharp, bright, high contrast
The Bushnell Legend series binoculars are among the best buys at their respective price points. The top of the Legend line, the M series, was replaced by the Bushnell Forge line which has minor improvements, but optical performance is similar. The Legend M 8x42 is bright, very sharp center field, with high contrast. The sweet spot is of good size, but of course not as large as the sweet spot on my $1000 Fujinon FMT-SX 10x50 binoculars. The Legend M 8x42 compares very well with competitive roof prism binoculars in the $500 price range made by Nikon or Vortex, but the Legend M can be found for less than half that price used in excellent condition making it a best buy. Full size binocular with up to date features and view
Bushnell Legend M's are a great buy at some discount prices that have been around lately. They are full of up to date features, which translates to a better view comparable to higher priced binoculars, at a great price. The deliver bright, sharp detail with a neutral color balance, unlike some are very warm in colors. Each way has pros and cons, but these are very nice, if you can handle a full size binocular, and don't need a compact. 10 power isn't always easy to hold steady either, for older or very young (little people need small binoculars). I prefer 10x for more detail at longer range, though in a closer environment and distances like woods walking, most prefer 7 or 8x, with 8 being the norm for most situations. The 7 and 8's are easier to hold steady for any and all observers, so take that into consideration and you may be happier with the lower 8x, or even 7. I even have a 6x32 that I like to use in the woods, so there is a use for them all. Great Value for the money

Better than Vortex Viper HD. Clearer glass
