Fantastic and unbeatable by anyone.
I didn't install it. I had a plumber do it because it is one horsepower and the other was 3/4 horsepower which lets you know that it is a little larger and therefore, the pipes had to be shortened. I wanted him to do that. He told me it was an excellent garbage disposal. I agree with him. Even though it is 1/4 horsepower larger, it is more quite than the last one I owned. I also love the twenty year warranty and the price I bought it for on eBay was exceptional. Can you imagine the Badger 3/4 horsepower I looked at only had a two year warranty and this one as a twenty year warranty. Horrible vibration
Works fine unless you empty a half or more full sink of water (this is clean water). Then the thing tries to tear the whole sink out. No idea why. I suspect the blades get out of sync with each other combined with the looseness of the "easy-mount" system (no rigid support to disposal) causes the vibrations. I suspect that because it doesn't vibrate all the time- it's on and off, while running and moving the water. I'm going to have to install some kind of stabilization to see if it will work. Noisier than InSinkErator but more powerful
On balance, it's probably the top of the line garbage disposal available.....that's why the company's warranty is the best. They also have excellent customer service. Be advised that it is a little bit noisier than the equivalent 1 hp. InSinkErator. However it does grind kitchen waste at 2,800 RPM vs, !,725, so I'm willing to cut them some slack.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Nothing short of AWESOM
My badger 5 stopped working and I wanted something that would be powerful, last, and quiet. I looked around and the reviews on the l8000 said it was a great machine for a great price. I just received it and installed it using the easy setup features. And sure enough it was easy, fast, and very quiet. I was impressed with the large amount of sound insulation put around the motor itself. The entire motor is enclosed with sound insulation. This Thing Is A BEAST!
Just finished installing the unit. It's heavy at 15 lbs. Rubber gasket MUST be placed properly or it won't connect. Found the solution on YouTube, then it went right in. Good thing, because it gets heavy REAL fast when you hold it in one hand and try to turn the Quick Connector with the other. This thing is GREAT! You Tube's full of videos that prove it'll obliterate a complete chicken carcass, so that's good to know. It's fairly quiet, though it'll get louder when it's working hard, but not obnoxiously so. One HP is WAY more than one needs, but the lifetime warranty sold me on this unit. I LOVE this thing! It's better to have too much power than not enough. It would take a LOT to stall this thing, and it's also a batch feed unit. Turn on the water, turn on the unit, then shovel all the waste you want down it. Power and Easy to Clean
The one thing that I was looking for in a disposal was one that had a removable strainer to make it easy to clean and one that HOPEFULLY will not rust quite as fast as my previous one did. The disposal opening is quite small BUT the Disposal has Great Power yet much quieter than my old Badger. The disposal weighs 14 pounds which made it very hard to align under the sink. Powerful, quiet, and very good value
I shopped quite a bit and looked for reviews. Everywhere I turned a couple of disposals kept popping up, and the WK 8000 was one. I found it to be less expensive for what it is. I went with 1 HP because I like for appliances to have the power to do the job. I had owned a smaller WK in a previous home and found it to be durable, quiet, and to never jam, but the 1 HP 8000 price I found was close or less than the 3/4 HP WK prices I saw. With stainless insides, 1 HP permanent magnetic motor, and lifetime warranty, I couldn't figure how I could buy something as good anywhere near the price, much less something better. It is quiet enough. The only problem I have with WK is that the opening is smaller than most, and the removable rubber guard is stiff, so you have to push food down most of the time. But my wife, who uses it most, does not think twice about that and just likes that it never jams. It just works and works. Not sure it is durable yet, but previous WK I owned was, and lifetime in-home warranty means WK thinks it will be. Nobody gave me anything to write this though I would not have minded if they had! This disposal is impressive to look as well as operate. Looking at its components and features it clearly has more thought put into R&D; development and features. Works great, very quiet.
We replaced a "in-sinkerator" 1/2 hp which was probably installed when the home was built in 1970. It still kind of worked, but when the drain was clogged because it didnt grind up spaghetti noodles, it was time to upgrade! The old one was very loud. The new one is very quiet. Momma's Happy!
