Perfect compliment to the LB&SCR locomotive with captivating lighting.
Beautiful matching rake of carriages. Perfect compliment to our locomotive in the same livery. They run perfectly, as you would expect. The lights are very effective, as is the genius magnet based switching. You can operate them manually or rig magnets around your track to turn them on and off at the right moment, around tunnels or leaving the yard. Hornby lights are easy to install, but it seems to be cheaper to get them pre-installed. Many carriages are designed , like these, to pop apart for easy installation or just changing the battery equipped with nothing more than a thumbnail. The lights and wiring are very neat and discrete, which would be hard to match with my soldering skills to save some pennies. Inspired by these, I've since installed a mix of mine and Hornby' s lights, depending on the style, vintage and accessibility of the carriage. Stash a sound module in the brake van to add another dimension.
