I had this on vinyl c. 1970. It's a good sign that all these years later I decided to buy a new copy. I enjoyed it but I think I liked it better 50 years ago. Of the chess vintage series I really liked the JB Lenoir, the little Walter, Muddy Waters "sail on' is just the " best of muddy waters" in a nicer package. Etc., Not long after this came Guy's Hold that plane! on Motown(!), of all labels. Sound quality compared with the chess reissue..not even in the same ballpark crystal clear high fidelity on the motown. But in general the Chess Bros. nailed it-great sound in all these great old records. Sonny Boy Williamson's Bummer Rd a great record.. and has that famous "little village" argument with Leonard (?) Chess...worth the price of the lp by itself. The Chess Bros. were in the right place at the right time...thank God. So many GREAT records.
