Sadly this book falls at the first fence when one gets into the first chapter. The vehicle in the storey is a double decker Route Master bus, but the author has allowed the publishers to put a drawing of a 1950s Bedford single decker bus on the cover. As the story unfolds one gets the feeling that the author is not that familiar with buses and what their maintenance and management involves. Sadly also the story does rather feel derivative. I have read several other engrossing chic lit volumes based in the Cotswolds and then Newquay area of Cornwall with heroines who's main skill is cooking. Then there is the classic Bad Guy who is powerful and good looking. Sorry, but that has been rather done to death. This author has a good list of books so she must be popular. Perhaps this one was written when ideas were short. A bit of a let down for summer reading.Read full review
