    I love Stephen King anyway, but both actors were wonderful in their parts very charismatic & exciting I was fully engaged all he way through the film.

    Epic struggle between The Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey) and the Gunslinger (Idris Elba) with a psychic twist with Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor)

    Against the dystopian backdrop of several different coexisting worlds, the battle centres around the evil sorcerer, Randell, Matthew McConaughey's character, The Man in Black, and on the side of right, Idris Elba, Roland, The Gunslinger, the only man resistant to the Man in Black's control. The Man in Black recruits children and harnesses their energy to destroy the Dark Tower, the only defence against the universe being taken over by monsters, and in his search for the perfect child, he discovers Jake Chambers played by Tom Taylor and the whole story centres around these three characters. Jake (Tom Taylor) is also psychic who not only has visions of The Man in Black and The Gunslinger, but also draws what he sees and though his powers, manages to make the jump across worlds and the epic struggle is set. The special effects are spectacular but not overdone, enhance the conflicts and end with the gunslinger killing the man in black. Every time this has been shown on terrestrial TV, I have recorded it but have always been frustrated by the commercials, so I bought it very cheaply and could not be more delighted with it and have watched it twice in 6 weeks. If you like classic struggles between good and evil with a psychic twist, then this is for you. Love it.
