Based on the bestselling books by popular children's author Enid Blyton; when Julian, Dick and Anne are sent to live with their Aunt and Uncle in the English countryside they clash with their rebellious cousin Georgina who likes to be known as George. Wonderful! Finally the full set, including Five go to Smuggler's Top and works on UK DVD players
If you are looking for the full set of Famous Five TV series from the 1990's with the fab Jemima Rooper here it is - my daugher (9) loves the books and wanted to see the TV series plus they brought back happy memories for me - they are really good, much better than the terrible 1970's series!! If you are into the Famous Five then all you need to know is that yes, even though it says its Region 4 (Australia), it works perfectly well in the UK which is Region 2. I have played my copy purchased from Australia in the UK on a UK Region 2 Sony PS3 and PS4 DVD player. The DVD box itself does not mention Region 4 anywhere. The fact it has all the films including the hard to find Five go to Smuggler's Top Pt1 & Pt2 which was missed out of the the previous boxed sets (such as De Vijf for example) makes this the first and only complete release of the complete series - so grab one whilst you can. It also has a better DVD menu than other releases. The DVDs are labeled up and play in English as follows: Disc 1 Five on a Treasure Island Pt1 & Pt2 Five get into trouble Five go adventuring again Five fall into adventure Five go to Demons Rocks Disc 2 Five on Kirrin Island again Five on Finniston Farm Five go off to camp Five have plenty of fun Five go on a secret trail Five go to Smuggler's Top Disc 3 Five go down to the sea Pt1 & Pt2 Five run away together Five have a mystery to solve Five go to mystery Moor Five go on a hike together Disc 4 Five have a wonderful time Pt 1 & Pt2 Five go off in a caravan Five get into a fix Five are together again Five go to Billycock Hill Pt1 & Pt2 Disc 5 - Bonus Five have a mystery to solve (1964 Black & White) BFI Childrens Film Foundation (This is the same as the recent BFI release in the UK)

Thank you, thank you so much!! I never thought I would be able to get this series!! It's straight back to my childhood for me every time I put it on. It came in great time through the post, all the episodes are there and as long as you have a games station (we have a Ps4, not sure about Xboxes) or a region free DVD player there in no trouble in playing it!! Just simply over the moon with this purchase!!!

Nostalgia at its best
Great entertainment for children and nostalgia for adults who watched this as children. This is a complete 21 episode series from the 1990s on four DVDs, and also includes a additional DVD with a cinema B&W serial with different actors. For some reason they are not in the correct published order on the DVDs but its of little consequence. CDs & case look good quality originals & the case was still sealed. The CDs have no region code on them & play fine on a bog standard UK region 2 Sony BDP-S5500 player and a laptop DVD player too.
