Director Ken Finkleman's comedy sequel, spoofing the disaster movie genre (and more besides). Following events of the first film, now-disgraced former pilot Ted Striker escapes from hospital to board the first commercial flight to the moon. However, following a computer malfunction, the flight becomes endangered and Striker must once again avert catastrophe and endeavour to save the day (as well as the passengers)... But really the plot plays second fiddle to silly, deadpan and parodic comedy. Many of the first film's cast return, including Hays, Julie Hagerty, Lloyd Bridges and Peter Graves, while William Shatner demonstrates his comic flair as Commander Buck Murdock. Finkleman's eclectic career includes the screenplay for Grease 2 and a Canadian sitcom starring Frankie Howerd.
