Being a fan of Mira Sorvino, her presence in this was my primary reason for wanting this movie. However, I am also a fan of Chow Yun Fat. I haven't seen many of the movies that he's done, but of the ones I have seen, I do like them. He may not be the superstar that someone like Jackie Chan or Jet Li is for example, but he has done some great work and he is a cult movie star in his own right. From the beginning, I found myself immersed in this movie. Even though, Fat played an assassin, I found him interesting and I wondered what he was going to do. He plays it straight down the line, no nonsense and he is totally engaging on screen. The same with Sorvino. Mira hasn't done many movies that I have been a fan of, and I am not into Mimic or anything, but I do have three movies that she stars in, one lesser known. I do find her to be a very likeable and sexy presence on screen. In this movie, she is exactly that. She is very capable and at the same time, very likeable. Both Chow Yun Fat and Mira Sorvino make a dynamic duo that help the sustain the excitement brilliantly. It took a while for me to find an edition of this movie on blu ray that I liked, but I did find it, and I loved the retro packaging. There may be much nostalgia creeping in there with retro perhaps, and those memories of home video, but it sure makes for fun packaging and you can't beat those eighties movies. The Replacement Killers comes very close to harking back to those days. A fun, thrilling movie with two great leads. Read full review
