Save a fortune
I went to my local VW dealer to see if they would be able to update my maps for me and they quoted me £160. After picking myself up off the floor I headed home to see if there was a cheaper alternative and believe me this is it. This biggest difficulty I had was identifying the unit in my vehicle. I narrowed it down to 2 possible units and took a chance that this was the right one and thankfully it was. The item comes in a small plastic container with no other documentation but all you have to do is put the SD card into the slot and work through the instructions and after 2 hours it's updated. Very easy to do and if you switch off the engine while the update is in progress then it's not an issue as it resumes when you start the engine again. Useful update with minimum hassle

VW maps at a fraction of the price
Older systems with integrated maps have always had rediclous prices and with PND or phones as competition manufacturers really need to rethink their pricing. £150 for one year of updates is just mad but £30 is a reasonable price. I was expecting something looking like a copy but this looks genuine. The maps installed just fine and are all working now on my 63 passat. I will certainly consider yearly updates at this price.
