North facing extension
I bought enough lining paper to do the whole room although only 3 of the 4 walls were outside walls. This stuff is easy to damage when unrolling, cutting and sticking. It also has a desire to stay in a rolled state and requires a lot of paste to keep it stuck on the wall. When nearing the end of the roll the diameter gets smaller, the turns get tighter and as a consequence the polystyrene was cracked considerably. I found it too difficult to stick the last strip from each roll as it kept peeling itself off and the cracks formed a very uneven surface. Because of this I wasted quite a lot of what I bought and did not paper the one internal wall. Some of the cracked parts were lightly sanded after application and a reasonable finish was attained prior to covering with lining paper.
I have now painted the room out but it is far from the appearance of a new walls. The seams show through and some parts are uneven where the polystyrene cracked. The surface is very soft and will dent very easily.
It is however much warmer and I antisipate an epic task if you ever want to remove it.
