A brilliant little gadget!
I had tried growing from seed and the results were mostly unsatisfactory, the seedlings just grew long and thin. I tried heated propagators but I'd read it was the light that was missing and you don't get much natural light indoors. Another problem was to get the watering just right, seedlings die very quickly if allowed to dry out, but swamping them isn't good either. This little device has made it possible to grow from seed all year round without having unsightly seed trays on the window sills. It doesn't need a well lit room so it can live out of sight in the kitchen. A cheap timer attached to the plug switches it off for the night and it takes care of the watering as well.
