I had known a little about this incident in WW2, mainly from the film Jaws. I read the reviews on here before buying, which seemed to be divided between good and bad, but thought I should judge for myself. I do like Nicholas Cage, war films, and sharks. Unfortunately the bad reviews seemed to be accurate. The 'leaping' sharks were ok - I have seen this on wildlife documentaries, sharks do leap out of the water when hunting prey like seals. But the storyline and acting were disappointing. They failed to keep my attention, and I almost gave up. The obligatory love story was a waste of film time. The only real interest for me was the aftermath, with the military cover up and scapegoating of the captain, which I did not know about , and was sad to learn about. Obviously some people did like this film so I suppose it's a matter of personal taste, but I'm glad that I didn't pay much to watch it.Read full review
