The children were looking forward to the long school holidays. It was their last term at junior school and they were hoping for something exciting to happen. When they heard a circus was coming to town, they couldn't wait for the long summer which stretched before them. They soon made friends with the circus children and Pete thought his dream of finding his first girlfriend had come true. Then things started to go drastically wrong. Ropes were cut, animals were let loose and the circus was in danger of being closed down. Someone was sabotaging the acts hoping to drive the circus away, but the more things that went wrong, the more popular the circus became and the shows were packed full. The children set out to find the culprit but their determined efforts lead to a dramatic and unexpected result. One thing was for sure, though: they couldn't remember a summer as exciting as this one.
