  • Loose ends

Hi, sadly, this last of the Discworld series, doesn't really live up to past stories. It's very obvious it is an attempt to tie up all the loose ends that previous stories may have left. But it seems to me that someone other that the great man finished the book. It lacks his intelligent, rapier like wit and empathy. So, although the items were well made (the CDs) the story ends with a whimper rather than a bang. I fully understand why this would be so. It just takes a small amount of gloss of an amazing, wonderful, funny, insightful series that is the Discworld.

  • The Last One

This is Terry Pratchett's last novel and as such was on the shelf for a long time before I read it; I bought the audiobook for my wife's birthday and she has listened to parts of it: the section where a major character passes is still tender in the memory of STP's passing last April. The book is the last in the Tiffany Aching series and a good tribute to the author. A must listen to.
