LEGO's popular toy series makes its Game Boy Advance debut with the release of Bionicle: Matoran Adventures. Blending platform action with puzzle solving, the game involves both Matoran and Turaga characters in a fight to defend their island home of Mata Nui from a race called the Bahrag. Enemies are not the only thing to worry about in this tropical adventure, as falling rocks and icicles threaten to squash players at every turn, while pools of lava make walking across certain areas deadly. Traps must also be avoided, and each environment has a number of switches to activate secret areas.<br><br>In order to successfully traverse the six levels in the game, ranging in theme from jungles to ice mountains, players can freely switch between Matoran and Turaga characters at any time once they're found. Play begins with a Matoran character that has the ability to double jump and can use a throwing disc against enemies. Five additional Matoran characters can be located as the game progresses as well as six different Turaga characters. Turaga characters can flip switches and use elemental powers against foes. Also available on each stage are four power-ups to replenish lost health or to increase the strength of an attack.
