  • This should be everyone's first book about Kachinas.

This is the number one reference source and the universal starting point for all aspects of understanding Kachinas, or collecting Kachina dolls. This is the book that nearly all Hopi carvers own. It is not 100% comprehensive, nor is it 100% accurate (particularly in regard to spelling), but it is still by far the best single source and stand-alone introduction to the infinitely complex phenomenon of the Kachinas.
