Bill Cosby was already a presence on television for much of the 1960s and '70s, but in 1984 he debuted his new series, THE COSBY SHOW. It went on to become one of the most popular shows on television. Even in its very first year, THE COSBY SHOW was the third highest rated show in America. On the program, Cosby played Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable who, along with his wife Claire (Phylicia Rashad), an attorney, struggled to balance the challenges of their successful careers with the demands of their five children. The five kids all varied greatly in age and each had their own problems, which led to a variety of plotlines for the sitcom to utilize. Cosby's goal with the show was to present a positive view of a regular, middle-class, and successful African-American family. As the years passed, audiences were able to watch the children grow up and face life's obstacles in a way that was realistic yet always marked by Cosby's mischievous humor. You are a great man who deliveres basic core values to his audience.
The Cosby Show has always been very entertaining because it emphasizes the core values of family, respect and training/teaching children to be model citizens in todays bizarre world. I have made similar discipline issues with my children and not know that Cosby had a similar view after watching his show. His show was never rehearsed and was very much impromptu to a LIVE studio audience. My wife and I still watch his shows on other CD's we have collected over the years. Great price. Not so great casing.
So I love The Cosby Show. Great, wholesome tv. I love that I got the entire series for an inexpensive price. However, some of the discs came with a smudge on them and I don't love the sleeves it came in (the discs slide out kinda easily). how can you not love the cosby show
