Very nice
These are great bbq thermometers for the price. Seem to be accurate on temperature comparing it with others, the range is good to start with. I’m on my second one of these thermometers after about 7+ bbq seasons. My first one still works but the range between units is horrible it will loose connection at less than 30 feet, the first 3 or so years it was great easily 300 feet but over time it got less and less to where now it’s almost useless. My last bbq session it lost connection several times and wasn’t more than 15 feet from the main unit. But as I said for the price it’s great and it has lasted a descent amount of time considering the unit will sit out in the direct sunlight baking for hours and keep working for years. I can’t see the more expensive thermoworks brand ones lasting much if any longer in those conditions, yet they are twice to 4x the price. Overall I’m very pleased with this thermometer and recommend it to anyone needing a good bbq thermometer at an affordable price.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Looks good, doesnt last

Now on number three
I use this item for timing and temperature control of my smoker. Unfortunately they don't seem to last very long. I must say however that the distance between transmitter and receiver is extremely good as I am able to move around an acre of property and it maintains the signal. Usually it is the probe that fails but the unit failed on the last two, due to heat probably. Stupid screws on the transmitter.
Haven't used it yet but first impression is why are there tiny screws on back of transmitter??? Already lost one putting batteries in. Could have made a slide and snap like the receiver. 2nd it looks to be made by Maverick even though it says Remington. Not a bad thing just stating what was on the back product label. 3rd, I wish the min temp went higher than what it does on the BBQ probe. I don't like to let mine dip below 200 but max is like 176. Other than that I will see how it works. It's cost effective enough and at worst, I can always just use it as a meat probe without opening the smoker.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Both probes are long enough but could be longer by approximately 6". The thermometer is easy to set up as is the remote. The ability to set smoker temp separate from item being cooked is priceless. Already have experienced smoker going below pre-set temp providing alarm. Was able to correct issue with smoker without loosing time and effecting cook.
