The router is in very good condition. I'm doing a clear out of my house and found this stashed away from years ago. I've installed/flashed custom firmware to it to allow more functionality from it. 😊

  • Good bit of kit, but if you're setting up a VPN, be patient, follow the instructions.

Yes, but.... ...if you are buying this to set up a VPN, using the OpenVPN option, then be aware that you will have to do a bit of research and faffing about. How much depends on the VPN provider that you have chosen. I chose NordVPN (which comes highly rated) and I had to dig around on the Nord website to find all the info. Cutting and pasting of CA certificates and the like is then required. I'm pretty good on this stuff, having had an IT background before I retired, but if you're a complete novice, then I would suggest either: getting someone to do it for you; b) choose your VPN provider carefully, some are better than others in the provision of tutorials; or c) buy a router with the VPN pre-installed. I scoffed a bit at the "pre-installed" bit - before I started. Halfway through the afternoon, I could see the point. But, if you are patient, and can follow instructions, you can install this. The router itself is fine and fitted in perfectly with my 100% Apple network (Airports, Macs, Ipads, Iphones).
