This was purchased to replace an iPad 3 which is a brute of an iPad weighing in at 662gram compared to the mini at 300g. It has a similar battery life to 3. The screen has a sharper picture because it has 326ppl instead of 264ppi. It also has double the ram at 2gb and 50% more processor speed. The camera Is rated at 8mp compared to 5 on the iPad 3. So, you can see that the newer ipad 4 has a lot going for it in terms of improved specification.
