Worth it
I bought an LG from the same buyer, about the same price. only lasted a summer before the compressor went out which means you pretty much just have to buy a new one. Knowing that more than likely the same is going to happen to this one I still buy it because it keeps my apartment ice cold on hot days and I can't stand the heat, can't live in it or sleep in it. The cooling part is good. But the WiFi portions is total disaster
The only reason I bought it was the ability to control via Smart Phone. SmartThinQ Guess what - it doesn't work. Or takes forever to connect. I called LG support they said they are still working on cleaning up the bugs. At least they are aware. Let's see, if that changes I would give it 5 stars. Limited Wifi!!!

Disappointing
Noisier than expected and the water tank filled in less than a hour, code E5 and it cuts out. Constantly having to drain it. Had to put the whole unit up on blocks,left the drain plug out,so we could use a big drain tray from the garage or I would have been up all night draining it. Easy to use, but sounds like a jet engine
When our house AC went out we used this portable unit for three nights. On low it was like having a jet engine on. We tried setting to the energy savings setting so it wouldn't stay on all the time, but it went on and off about every 5 minutes. Love the Wifi but it is a bit noisy

Effective solution for a hot room or 2. Would buy this again
Removes humidity quickly. I have this in an area approximating 800 sq feet, so it's a bit small for the area. It was able to drop the temperature from 85+ and humid down to 76, and then maintain it. Made the space very comfortable. It was 90 something and very humid. I was impressed. The oscillating feature spreads the 'cool' out. We have a ceiling fan in the area, and having that on increases the effectiveness. The remote is hard to read -- grey on a black background. Hooked up the wifi. This appears to work. Haven't tried it from a remote location. We havent had to empty the humidifier yet -- the plug is right next to the bottom of the unit. This will be a challenge. The fan is not "quiet". You'll have to turn up the TV a notch or two. About what I would expect for a unit this size. But what a relief. We would buy this unit again.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Easy Install and Simple Maintenance
Second unit we own. Operation is easy and cleaning the filters is, too. If it gets loud it is asking for filters to be cleaned. Messy condensate is evaporated off or drained so the "swamp" at the window does not happen. Installation was very quick and without wrecking your back lifting a heavy object into the window opening!
