just as good,but...
While this unit is comparable to the huskies and stihl's by power, it lacks longevity in the household field. By purchasing reman products, one must be mechanically savvy to extend this products life expectancy ( ex: replace carb.). Remember, it was returned for a reason. A great item for professionals as an extra, that is until you have funds to purchase a better brand or if the stihl is in the shop. Overall, if treated well, they tend to last around 40 hours of use with non-ethanal fuel and proper fuel-oil mix. powerful and light weight
i like mine very much. when I received it, it would start and idle, but would cut off when i pushed the throttle. i called Ryobi and the tech. said it needed a carbarator adjustment. I took it to the local repair shop and for $8.00 and 5 minutes later it was fixed. way less trouble than sending it back. you should wear hearing protection when using this as it can be a little loud being close to your head. i have been very happy so far. One modification I would make though is to the nozzle assembly. where you have to put the pipes together is a weak link--they will come apart after a while. What i did was put them together and then put short self tapping screws into the pipes where they connect and this way, they can't come apart. so far so good.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Just what I needed to rebuild my back pack blower
This combination of frame and harness straps restored the usefulness of my Ryobi BP42 Back Pack Blower that was damaged in an accidental brush fire. Although new replacement parts (frame and harness) are available on-line, this pre-owned combination unit was in very nice condition and is an exact replacement of the original parts.
