I used this CPU for a workstation build, with great multitasking performance, it handles multiple programs very well.
I have overclocked my copy to 4.8GHz using a 240mm AIO CPU Cooler but your mileage may vary.
If you don't do heavy multitasking/use many intensive programs such as video editing, I would recommend this many cores as overkill. Although it gives you the option of upgrading into the broadwell system and future systems if your computer use requires it.
Love this motherboard! It is compact, which helps if you go for ultra-tiny build, offers fantastic OC properties and has a very nice look to it.
One bad thing - it has only one USB header which does hurt a bit if you have watercooling with USB controlled speeds and features - you have to buy separate PCI card with more slots..
