Great camera with great 4K video quality and easy to use features. As soon as you turn it on it's in instamatic mode, meaning everything is set and ready to take video. It has various, easy to use, video post editing features. One if the simple features is the level displayed on the screen, helps you keep those shots leveled up especially when holding camera in odd position to get a shot, like above a crowd or leaning left or right to get that special shot. Good for catching your thieves.
Better run it at 720p as 1080 is way too grainy, so if you plan to catch a thief it will do. Battery life is too short, no indication how much time its left, so buy a large power-bank or supply constant power. Runs hot so not really suitable for being portable in your pocket. Bigger is not always better
This camcorder is classed as consumer level. I don't agree. We have spent many thousands of dollars through the years purchasing expensive DSLRs and Pro Camcorders. This little beauty creates magnificent 4K video and the internal editing is amazing to say the least. We have just ordered another one so that in our two shot scenes there is consistency in color etc. We use an expensive shotgun mic with this unit, but the sound from the built in mic is awesome for ambience and closeup interviews. So terrific I bought another after using the first ONE!
The WXF991K is feature rich, so much so that I have so much more to understand and utilize. It is feature rich even in "point and shoot" mode. It is not an intimidating piece, but there are many goodies new to this Prosumer. I always shoot using both from optimum angles and having 2 of the exact platform makes the learning curve much faster as I have one to reinforce what I have used on the other. Panasonic HC-WXF991 review
I just got this video camera after watching several you tube tutorials on it and doing some research online about it further plus there are some people at my church who use this particular brand. It records very well from what I have seen. The only thing is that the battery dies out very fast , sometimes in less than an hour , so you have to keep an extra battery charged with this particular model especially if you are recording an event. The video quality is very nice especially the cinema features on it. I really like it alot , but just wish it had longer battery life for recording, that's the only downfall to this model.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This is a really nice 4k camcorder with some very advanced features and the price I got on it from ebay was essentially $225 less than I would pay for it on Amazon it was new in the box as advertised and I couldn't be happier. There are still some great deals on ebay that you won't find anywhere else. Great camera with a couple of very minor flaws
I graduated from the Panasonic HDC-HS900 to this model (HDC-WXF991K) as I wanted to upgrade to a 4K camera for improved quality. Difficult to give an in depth review - I've only had it a few days. However, it has performed as expected - the video quality is very good. It is lightweight and that's good - stability (OIS) appears to have improved from the HS900 model. Haven't used the p-in-p camera yet and probably won't, except out of interest to see how it works. Also I tend to keep an external microphone attached to the camera at all times (improved sound quality) - unfortunately the cover of the mount just flaps around at the side of the camera - I'm apprehensive about inadvertently catching it on something (e.g. when camera is pulled in and out of bag) and snapping it off. A sliding cover, into the body of the camera, would be preferable. By comparison with the HDC-HS900, which has an inbuilt 220Gb hard drive, the WXF991K stores the data on SD card, which will add about another $100 to the purchase price if you go for, say, a SanDisk Extreme Pro 128Gb. Generally I like the camera a lot and am glad I've made the upgrade.

Be sure to print out the HUGE advanced manual. Lots of cool stuff. Captures of video scenes are really cool. Pics of hummingbirds came out quite well, made from the video.
