  • Amazing scope

The only negative thing I've found so far is the O ring in the objective cover falls out. I finally lost it after having re installed it several times. I was going to put a couple of tiny spots of super glue around the perimeter to hold it in, but never got around to it. Customer service was very helpful and is sending me another O ring, which I WILL glue in. Not a big deal. For my purposes, this scope is excellent. I hunt/stalk hogs at night. They are tearing up my pastures. I can quickly scan a pasture and detect deer, hogs, rabbits, feral cats, and even mice, and gophers. It's amazing what's out there that we never see. The main reason I bit the bullet and went with the thermal devices is because of the humidity. High humidity and fog make IR devices useless, and we have those conditions regularly. With the thermals the humidity reduces the image of trees and such, but anything with body heat is still easily detected. I have a Flir 240 scout, and I thought it was really good until I looked through this scope. The humidity affected the flir a lot more than this scope,,of course there is a $1000 difference in cost. Still can't believe I spent so much money on equipment to fight hogs, but, I can tell the difference between deer and hogs as far as 500 yds and more on a good night. It saves me a lot of time, AND IT'S FUN. I have the scope mounted on an AR15 now, and it's a bit heavy, especially since I carry it slung across my back while riding a mountain bike from pasture to pasture. I am rigging a Mossberg Bantam 308 to use in the near future, to reduce the weight. I have shot a lot of hogs with the 223 bullet, and it works with good shot placement, but sometimes at night that's not easy to do. The 308 puts them down quick. If I had the money, I'd buy a hand held version of this scope for scanning. So far, Pulsar, SellMark, and NightVisionUniverse are 5 star folks to buy from.
