A used buy bargin
Upgraded from a Nikon D7200 to a Nikon D750 with this lens and the full frame aspect and the edge to edge sharpness is incredible. Yes it's the G1 (Model # A007) but as a used buy it's fantastic value. Although the G2 has obviously been updated with better build quality, an extra stop of VC and compatible with the Tamron Dock, I didn't think that justified the price difference between the G2 & G1 for me. Also the optical formula between the G1 & G2 are the same. I'm just am amateur photographer, I enjoy taking photographs and this lens/body combo serves that purpose superbly. I wholeheartedly recommend the G1 as a used buy, particularly if your coming from a DX.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

It is a bit hard to make any conclusions so early, but I am very impressed. Lens is solid and good quality. Image quality is excekent.
For the price I payed I am really impressed. Firstly, the lens build quality is very good, it really does not feel cheap plastic, but good quality. Switches are solid, and does not feel that they will wear out that soon. Morever, the focus and zoom rings are very smooth, just the right level. And the most impresive thing is the image quality: sharpness and colours. Interestingly, the sharpness and colour representation is better when I am taking in low light situations, which in my case is good thing. One big disadvantage might be the focus speed, but for my purouses it does not really matter. Overall I would give five stars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
