This is a landscape lens primarily offering some interesting perspectives for other types of work. It gives at 10mm (15mm full frame) about as wide a view as you will generally need. 24mm is a good standard wide angle. It's sharp but noticeably that sharpness falls off at the edges at 10-14mm particularly at full aperture. It's constant f4 across zoom is helpful and I like the internal zoom mechanism which keeps the lens at a constant length. It's a bit heavy compared to the 18 - 55 but the X camera is quite light so it's only a few grams extra. A great lens for landscape. If you want a more versatile I'd go first for the 16 - 80mm it's a more general use lens.

This lens has been out for a while and so there is not much that I can say which has not already been said. Like all wide angle zooms it is a tiny bit soft at the short and long ends but other than that it is outstanding. I have recently got into video and it is very good for my needs. Just a great lens alround.

Like all/most of Fuji products it is expensive but you get what you pay for. It's sharp, light and responsive.
