I’m a amateur photographer who has always used lower end camera’s and lenses and was never satisfied with the results, I decided to up my game and purchase better but cheap. So buying used good condition equipment was on the agenda, I purchased a used Canon EOS 1DS MII but still found my photos lacked sharpness amongst other things. I took plunge and bought this lens, I was not disappointed. It very sharp and this along improved the look of my pictures dramatically and combine the Image Stabilisation and a constant f4 it is my go to lens for most occasions. The lens is solid and feels good in the hand, focusing is fast and accurate with almost no noise. Canon best built lens
All good round lens. no cons shoots at f4 pin sharp. Canon said what it able to do. Small senor cameras benefit from it range, and full frame benefit for a good everyday and my 2x converter work with this zoom so where it failed on the sigma lenses it likes the barrel zoom. By the way I use a Canon 50D iso 320

A lightweight lens with excellent IQ. The IS version is preferable, if like me you are a lazy photographer who captures the 'moment' rather than 'creates' the image, however this lens is lighter, and its image quality is just as good as the stabilised version.
