It works like it's brand new. I was albe to use it right away to check it out even with the acoustic triggers I was trying out for the first time. Sounds good, I'm still setting stuff up on it, l like the parameters on it as well so you can literally tweak it to your liking cymbals as well. Also I've been using acoustic drums my whole life and using this set up as an alternative and I'm impressed that l can use and treat these like acoustic drums, sound wise. Awesome!

Great piece of drumming technology. For live sound and recording, it takes all the headaches out of getting a incredible drum tone out of an acoustic set. Be it jazz, country, rock, metal, electronic, rap, hip-hop... it's all there at your fingertips. No college education required. Is it cheating? Sound wise? ABSOLUTELY! But don't kid yourself you still need to be able to play a drum kit.

No one can match the quality and sound of this set. Sounds and plays as good as Roland's supernaturals if not a little better. The adjustments you can make on every drum on the fly is unmatched and the rack system is more solid than even gibralters racks. Roland's racks are cheap and chincy compared to this new hex rack that hides scratches even you can even find them. Everything about this set from the gel pads which are also way meter than mesh, to the rack to the adjustments and palyability which pick up even the smallest nuances on snare rolls, cymbal swells etc. Roland can't compare. Also my guess is this will out last Roland's pads x10.

Being a new drummer I was very apprehensive about my 1st drum set being electric. Now that I've had it a few weeks, I can say it was a great choice. The sound quality is phenomenal as it is very responsive to the strikes and has a wide range of kit sounds to chose from. I primarily play from my headphones so that my family doesn't endure my hours of practicing rudiments and drum beats. I have also found the built in metronome immensely helpful as I learn to keep a tempo. Yes, I can say that this drum set it worth every penny.

Here's a test for any e-drum pad you intend to buy: Do a buzz roll. If an interruption in sound takes place, you know you have experienced dropped notes, which is bad. I have played Roland pads and electronic drum sets for years and have never experienced dropped notes, even with the lower-end drum brains and pads. Go with Roland. Excellent product. Excellent company.

I have no idea why Roland is no longer producing this module because it is still flagship quality. It does everything I expected and more! I'm using the module with a mix of Roland, Alesis, Muzzio and Laurin pads and all of them work great with the module!
