Best Optic out there.
Yeah, sure the aimpoint is so much better, exactly how? The circle dot sight is vasty superior for CQB and pretty much everything else. This thing will last forever running off the solar. I own like 6 of these so far and it is my go to optic for my arsenal. BTW, I hate the RMR, it washes out at the range, in the hunting stand, and anywhere you have less lighting than where your target it. Tactically an RMR is a joke, think about it. Poor battery life...
I bought this sight a couple of weeks ago and installed it on my KSG. It has excellent peripheral vision / very clear full field of view with a crisp illuminated Circle/Dot reticle which is perfect for a shotgun. I went to check it last night and the battery had died. Battery life is touted at 30,000 hours and it is equipped with a solar cell to enhance battery life. So I cannot understand why it is not working anymore. Any sight that does not work after only two weeks of inside storage, I feel cannot be trusted for tactical use. I will change out the battery (2032) and test it regularly. Amazing!
After I sent in my Eotech for recall/refund, it was tough to find a good and reliable unit with that reticle. This fit the bill, practically indestructible, waterproof, solar powered and battery powered so always able to turn on, holds zero amazingly well after being punished and takeoff/reinstalled, and IMO the best reticle for CQC. Best red dot I've ever used!
In the area of "budget optics" you have to be willing to compromise in order to keep the price in a reasonable territory. Not so with the Holoson. The construction is top-notch, fit and finish is great, and that is just the beginning. I was amazed at the clarity of the dual reticle. The dot is actually a dot! The solar panel works well and the battery life is amazing. You could spend hundreds of dollars more for a similar red dot, but I don't think you'd be any more pleased than you would be with the Holoson. Great sight, reticle not so much
Holosun makes really good sights for the money. The addition of the ACSS reticle seems like a no brainer. However the reticle is so small that it is difficult to make out the chevron and almost requires the use of a magnifier to take full advantage of the BDC. Use it with a 3x magnifier and you are set..
