Dustcare small carpet sweeper
This is lightweight well made and ideal for the odd crumbs that do not warrant the vacuum cleaner. Putting it together is simple and as the handle is screwed together it does not fall apart when in use. To empty it is easy and straight forward. Light enough for me to use.
Having mobility problems through arthritis, I find the carpet sweeper light enough to use instead of a vacuum cleaner. It is efficient at collecting carpet dust, debris, cat-hairs, etc. One drawback, however, is that I find it a little difficult to utilise the side-bars used to open the sweeper-base to empty the sweeper, finding them stiff and awkward to open.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A Brilliant Little Sweeper!
The Dustcare 1002 Sweeper is excellent and cleans very well, more so on carpets, which I have lots of! It is very easy to use and to empty, and has its own little tool attached to the handle for cleaning the brushes after use. I am very pleased with it as I am unable to use my electric hoover at present, after my hip operation. It keeps the carpets looking fresh and clean, which is what I wanted. I did a review on this recently, although I am really happy with it I was having problems opening the dust holder. It was me being thick , I’ve done it ! This is a really handy little sweeper for in between hoovering. It’s so light, and really does the job, it’s amazing for the price ! I have arthritis in my spine, so find that my vacuum cleaner is too heavy and awkward to manoeuvre. I remembered my nan using a carpet sweeper when I was a child, so thought I would give it a try. I can honestly say it was one of my better ideas (unlike my spinach casserole invention 🤢). I have a white carpet in my bedroom, which shows every speck of dust. After using the sweeper on the carpet, it now looks like new once again, I couldn’t believe how much it picked up. It was so easy to move around and the hair removal tool is handy too, considering there was enough hair wrapped around the roller to make my follicly challenged husband a toupee 👴🏻. It’s also easy to empty and the fact it folds flat is a bonus as it means I can store it out of sight. It's a lot less bover than a hoover.
Don't think that these things are out of date and from another Mrs Mops era. They work really well and can easily make short work of cleaning floors and carpets. They pick up a lot of bits and when you empty it, which is a doddle you will be surprised at how much you have picked up.Plus there is no smell, no noise and it costs nothing to run and there are no bags or filters to buy.
