Epson elephant original ink gives very good quality prints. I bought the printer to print family oriented calendars and used original ink. The quality of the printing exceeded my expectations, but the cost of the ink was far more than I expected due to getting less pages per cartridge. Before printing my next calendar run, I am going to experiment with compatible inks. I'm reluctant to switch to compatible inks as the quality of the elephant ink is so good, but from my point of view it is overpriced. If the cost of the printer had been lower, it would make more sense to scrap the printer when it ran out of ink and buy a new one! Sounds daft, but my other printer used daisy ink and if I used Epson ink cartridges, it would be significantly cheaper to buy a new printer with ink rather than a new set of cartridges. Surely something wrong with the pricing when a completely new printer with cartridges is cheaper than the replacement cartridges!Read full review
