Ideal for small trailer.
This jockey wheel is a light duty product and ideal for small camping style trailers. I think it’s good value for money and looks quite well made at the price. I personally looked at much more robust and expensive jockey wheels but decided that they would have been a complete “over the top” choice for the application I was looking for and this item suits and serves the purpose well on my small Erde trailer, so I’m pleased with my purchase.

Jockey Wheel Fixing Kit
The whole thing is poor quality. The U bolt threads have striped when attempting to tighten, The supplied side plate has bent making the whole thing loose. I have had to make my own packing spacers to try and stop it wangling about. The Plate needs to be thicker so it does not bend and the U bolts need to be made of harder steel. I suppose you only get what you pay for. This is not recommended you would be better spending more on a better quality product.

Works well, easy fit.
It is better not to drill the A frame of a trailer, therefore, if you have a square section frame this does the job of providing a easy solution, all the parts are included, even spacers for smaller frames. Very easy to fit.

Maypole Jockey Wheel Plate
This item saves a lot of trouble as drilling the trailer draw-bar is avoided. The item comes ready made and electroplated which is a real boon. Making one's own could be done but it would be uneconomic, furthermore cutting and grinding steel is apt to annoy the neighbours. Great item!

Easy fitting jockey wheel for small trailer
The trailer I bought had no jockey wheel and this was the perfect solution. A spanner and a pair of hands had it fitted in no time with no need to compromise the strength of the tow bar by drilling or welding. Excellent product at a reasonable price.

The fixing kit was straightforward to fit and appeared to be strong enough for the task. How long the plating lasts, before corrosion sets in time will tell. I bedded the plate up against the trailer drawbar with sealant to prevent water penetrating between the two and it is important to torque the nuts up sufficiently so that the fitting is firmly attached, but the plate is not unduly deformed.
