Short of being completely free it couldn't be better value!
This item really is a 5 start product. 5* I killed my last shredder but this is a better machine. Didn't block once in mulching-up an entire horrible tree. I am very pleased with the quality, better than I presumed, it works really well, it is a very tough/durable construction. Very well priced in the market here in eBay land. Easy to put together. I didn't see in the instructions it say so but you really need to use a couple of self-tapper screws in just the right position to hold the stand onto the machine otherwise if you lift the machine the stand will come away. There are holes in the stand tube ready for this - you just have to line-up a couple of screws in the exact spot - easy enough. (see photo) So I have run this unit for several hours and it is good. I didn't over-do it, that is how I killed the last machine. With the bigger, thicker, stuff just accept that this unit is not for grinding Giant Redwoods! I just leave a heap of wood by the road and before too long it is all snaffled-up.

Laptronix 2500 W electric Garden Shredder 50l mulcher waste chipper compost mulch.
Bought this item to deal with Leylandi branches that I had pruned from the trees at the rear of my house. Obviously I kept to the guidelines that accompanied the machine and only processed branches of a certain size, however the machine seems incapable of handling any amount of branches without getting seriously clogged up. Most of my time was spent clearing blockages and brushing out trapped shredded wood that had backed up due to the restricted size of the ejection port. I have to say that I am not impressed by this machine as it doesn't perform the job its designed to carry out, mainly due to its poor design. What I would say is that if you are trying to mulch leaves then this machine may do the job, however in my experience it doesn't cope well with anything like Leylandi branches or twigs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great little shredder
Chucked this little shredder in straight in at the deep end with a big green bag full of mixed cuttings, having had to unclog it a couple of time's i can say it worked really well. it was probably my fault it clogged as i was really giving it a good test and learning how to use it properly. I would recommend it for occasional weekend use. cuttings were a nice fine mulch and will make some good compost. but if you are doing it to save going to skip with so many green bags it will certainly reduce how many trips you have to do!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Poor machine. Will not shred.
Totally ineffective. Waste of time and money. Blocked at first try. Cannot unblock. Instruction manual gives no instructions. No apparent method of dismantling or clearing. No contact details of the supplier so cannot get advice. Tried to shred small twigs with leaves. Nothing was shredded. Machine now filled at entry slot and no movement. Powerful and less noisy than a petrol. Excellent VFM.
Great product. It's my first shredder and needed something to shred the branches we have in our standard-sized garden (roses, fennel, rosemary, 2cm-thick shrub prunings). I wanted an electric one to avoid the noise pollution. The shredder swallowed all these without even blinking. It very fast and powerful for a non-petrol. I also tried to mulch grass and thick stems but these are too flexible and just blocked the mouth. However, removing blockages is a doodle: just unscrew a knob and open the bonnet to remove any indigestion. Don't use it for grass or leaves but that's not what it was designed for anyway. Very effective shredder
Although the support frame is not as sturdy as I expected, the shredder works much better than I expected. It handles anything that fits into the loading slot and doesn't jam up when leafy or damp material is shredded. It can reduce a waist high mound of bush cuttings into a single bag of shreddings. Does as expected if you follow the instructions
From the reviews thought it would be a pain to clear if build up of chips caused blockage. If all instructions are followed it’s straight forward as is the chipping process. Feed down right side of chute make sure the material is fairly dry and clear blockages as soon as they occur and it is fine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Easy to assemble / does the job.
Very little to assemble / easy to put together. Used it for an hour on some hedging that I'd cut down and chopped the bits off the main branches a few weeks ago, so it had dried out nicely. I was careful not to attempt anything too thick. The machine chopped it all down bar the very thinnest bits as they passed through it. The bag needs a bit in it before it holds on properly, but that's the only issue I had and am very pleased so far.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
