Perfect for my use.
I bought this for my negative scanner, the laptop I use specifically with it, a red light for my office/darkroom and a photographic enlarger. It feel as solid as any extension I've come across before and the two USB hubs for chargers (or that's what I'm using them for) are a bonus. Really like how each socket has its own red light which is an extra safety device for me. It also helps me see if my equipment it switched on when I'm in the darkroom. You get what you pay for
Looks good and all appears to be working fine. The two USB charging outlets seem to work OK. However :- it is difficult to get your 13amp plugs into the sockets. This may improve with use, but definitely not good quality. Also, the two USB outlets. 'A' & 'B'. (One is 1amp, the other, 2.1amp). These are not marked. You have to guess which is which ! Should it hum?
I really like this item, but when I have two usb leads plugged in it hums quite loudly - a bit worrying. I couldn’t say it is good quality because of this, but it is good quality apart from this. I only have one slight complaint with this - the switches are confusing, it's not immediately clear which plugs they are for. That said, it's a minor issue as the light above the plug does light up so you can see if it is the wrong one. It's a sturdy unit, and the sockets are a good fit, not tight like some cheap ones can be. Useful addition of usb outlet?
First impressions revealed a well made product. Overall larger than an un-switched version but still quite neat. I would like to see specifications of the usb output, i.e. whether regulated, current and voltage limited and short circuit protected etc.. Very useful bit of kit
