Good but not without flaws
When choosing a gimbal, you need to think carefully about what your priorities are. I chose the G6 Plus for one main reason: it's was the only one in my price bracket that had a replaceable battery. All the others have built in batteries which means that when the battery dies I would need a new gimbal. Build quality of the G6 Plus is good and I expect it to last many years. Although it takes a couple of minutes, I found balancing easy to do. However, you really need some form of tripod to complete this task and, unlike many other gimbals, the G6 Plus doesn't ship with one. I've tested it with my iPhone, Sony RX100M4 compact and dSLR and it works with all of them. I can't fault the performance. Footage shot with my Sony compact is silky smooth. At 750 grammes with its lightest lens attached, the dSLR is close to the limit of what the gimbal can handle and, I have to say, this is a lot of weight to carry around and it didn't take long before my arms were tired. Bear this in mind if you're thinking of using a larger camera. Features wise, the are some annoyances: - Connecting the gimbal to your camera via your smartphone is just a brain-dead way of working and it's no surprise that no other gimbal does this. If control of the camera by the gimbal is important to you then perhaps you should look elsewhere. - You have to balance the gimbal every time you use it as it can't be stored in its case without undoing all the adjustments. - I wish there was a 'standby' mode that powers up just the user interface and not the motors. As it is, you have to have a balanced camera installed just to switch it on to play with the configuration.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
