Excellent automatic air extractor for the Thetford C260 toilet cassette, which will extract unpleasant odours and remove the need for chemical additives in the cassette. The fan has about a 5 minute over-run period before shutting off, which is not mentioned in the instructions, but is about the same as most domestic bathroom extractor fans. The fan is not as quiet as claimed, so at night, when fan noise would be a nuisance, the fan can be manually turned off after use, at the press of a button on the control panel. It works really well, but installation would not be considered a simple D.I.Y. job, so unless you feel confident, leave it to the professionals to fit, as an 85 mm hole has to be drilled through the floor of the van, underneath the toilet itself, (which must be removed first). Each kit is specific to the Thetford cassette toilet installed, so check serial number on label in the cassette compartment before ordering. The replacement control printed circuit board also appears to have the extra electronics built in for other add-on's such as electric flap and pump out, if these were to be subsequently added, where required. This fan kit works in the same way as the S.O.G. units on earlier toilets, but is now more discrete and better designed. It vents out through the floor of the caravan/motorhome, after passing through a carbon filter cassette, (which comes with the kit).
