Use it to treat metalwork on the house and in the garden. They needed re-treating this year, as the original coating of Hammerite needed had shown to be needing a bit of work (after 28 years !). Not like hammerite i used 20 years ago. Much better paint back then
Dries as soon as it hits the surface. Didnt want brush marks but impossible when it dries so quickly. Wouldnt recommend it for painting bicycle parts etc. Probably ok for railings etc. Im a professional painter and decorator and unless u buy the thinners thst go with hammerite paint to thin out paint so u can slow down drying time and be given chance to brush paint out evenly before it dries so quickly. Thinners defeat the object as cost as much as the paint itself. Says use straight frkm the tin. Thats fine as long as i have afew mins to work with the paint but i didnt? Dries so quick. Hammerite that cleans out of brush!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was astonished that you could clean the brushes out with white spirit. The old Hammerite I have used you had to throw away the brush after use.
