Rosin occurs as a hard, dry substance, brittle and friable, with a faint piny odor. Very good flux when soldering with tin-lead alloy. It is soluble in alcohol, ether, benzene and chloroform. May be used for horsehair strings to increase the roughness and thus improve string adhesion, also as quality improving printing ink binder.

    Versatile. easy to use.

Very easy to use. Produces a nice clean good solder joint. Also makes component removal easier if the solder has oxidised. Excess is easily removed with a q tip soaked in iso alcohol. This is a very brittle product and shatters easily in its tin. The application of mild heat to the underside of the tin quickly liquifies the contents and when cooled the contents are solid again.

  • Most critical review

It's solid like glass and needs melting, not comparable to paste.

This product is solid like glass, making is less convenient to use than paste flux rosin. It melts easy enough with a soldering iron, but I found it not as good as a paste for normal soldering and especially SMC work. That said, it's high quality EU made product at a very reasonable price. Just be sure it's what you need for the type of soldering or applications you're doing.

  • Works a treat on Laptop MotherBoard.

I used this to re-flow my laptop, which I had re-flowed a few times. Then I was advised to us the above Rosin Fluk and it worked great. I have tested the laptop by leaving the laptop on for a few days none stop, and it's still going. I must say the product is solid as stone but I knew that before purchasing, you need to scrap some, on a piece of aluminum foil and use a small knife to place some about half a centimeter above the chip, then you must heat the problem chip up, then melt the Rosin Fluk and make sure the fluk travels underneath the chip to all four sides. This is what I did from a video which I saw on youtube and it worked for me. You will do this at your own risk, I didn't have money for someone to do that for me, so once again, do this at your own risk! I definitely recommend this product and its well priced.

  • Best flux around

This flux is amazing for the price better than most expensive brands, exceptional for water damage repairs as leaves a coating on the under side of and components thanks

  • Nice cheap product

This looks a bit odd at first as it is crystallised, however it works really well and I can also make paste and liquid from it . Hard to open the lid at first.

  • Good rosin flux

I am not quite sure why it is still amazing that a flux works. Maybe to a cave man? Anyway, it makes a good strong flux when dissolved in isopropyl alcohol. It ensures properly wetted connections and is much more effective than the flux in the cored solder which I use. I also find the fumes much less objectionable than from my cored solder. though there maybe health issues when it is used on an industrial scale.

  • Excellent flux

This flux is quite different to flux I have bought before. In the tin it is quite solid but melts when heat from the soldering iron is applied. Because of this it is very manageable and sets very quickly in the tin. It does a great job on both copper and steel. I would certainly buy more.

  • Original rosin flux for soldering

Pure rosin - you can dissolve it in IPA/meths to make a liquid flux or dip your tip if you like. I prefer it to most of the fancy new fluxes, the price is right and it works perfectly, especially with leaded solder. It also dries back to a lacquer finish which isn't aggressive on the board any more, although you may prefer to remove any left over.
