The design allows the cane to be pushed into one of the holes in the ball as the side grooves in each secure the cane. Then more canes can be added and subsequently connected to others until you have your desired cage, cover or support.

    Very impressed

We wanted these to build a frame with netting to protect a small cherry tree from birds. Very pleased as it was easy to do this with canes and the flexi balls. I would recommend them as they made a very sturdy structure which is still standing after several windy days.

    Disappointing Product

The balls seemed like good idea but I have found them impractical. The holes in the balls do not fit most of my canes; which are mainly 90cm or 6ft and above; from multiple UK sources. I also bought and tried some 5 ft canes to make a structure but still had problems. To have cross pieces you need canes of the correct diameter at both ends further restricting what canes you can use. Except for the hole that goes thru the ball canes are still not held very firmly even when they "fit". In the end I needed to put string around the top to hold the affair together and use cable ties for some joints. Possibly if you only want a four foot "box" or you have "perfect canes" the balls might work; I have to believe someone tried them before. I attach a photo to show my last attempt but will add further support before putting a net over it. Wish me luck.

  • Doesn't fit different diameters of bamboo stick

Whilst this product is excellent for a certain diameter of bamboo stick; it is not useful for someone like me who uses 4ft, 6ft, 8ft lengths of stick bought from different suppliers. Even though the holes in the product are tapered to adjust for varying diameters, the length of the holes mean that the joints are quite flimsy resulting in the bamboo structure falling apart. The product is high quality in terms of the manufacturing material which is flexible and strong, but it is badly designed (unless you have the correct diameter of stick). I also think the product is little overpriced especially considering its lack of versatility when coping with sticks of varying diameter.

  • A must for every gardener

I have a problem with cats digging in the flower beds and vegetable plot. I wanted to make low cages using slender branches pruned from my shrubs/trees with netting over (as seen in Monty Don's garden). These are brilliant for joining the branches together and as the plastic is slightly flexible it is easy to adapt the framework to odd-shaped beds. What a brilliant gadget.

  • Good product but need right size canes.

Unfortunately bamboo canes are too thick at one end and too thin at other end fit snuggly in theses. So you really need uniform canes/sticks to fit. Had to sharpen thick end and use tape to thicken other end to fit.

  • Should be some INSTRUCTIONS!

Still trying to figure out the correct way to connect without it falling apart. Should be some instructions. One hole goes all the way through and the others all meet in the middle but don't hold the canes very well, and what is the little peg for? I will not be beaten (or will I?) Suppose I could always use them for cane toppers!

  • Doesn't fit standard canes

Whilst the balls seemed robust and well made, in practice they did not fit the standard garden canes that I purchased in Homebase and B& Q. The holes were too large and so the canes just fell out. I had a choice and could have wrapped the canes in masking tape to get them to fit the holes. However I decided to buy some other product where the canes could be secured with a tightening screw. These 20 balls went in the bin unfortunately.

  • Durable, easy use connectors

Well made, flexible cane connectors - just slide your canes into the ready made holes for an instant bird proof cage or plant support.

  • Good idea but doesn't work in practice

OK if the bamboo uniform size at both ends and fit in hole . Not particularly great fit. OK for pieces about a metre or so in length no more than 8 mm or so

  • Bamboo connectors flexi balls

Waste of money do not grip the canes. For this product to work all the canes would need to be of the same size.. the holes are not deep enough to hold the canes and don't grip to hold them in place. Do not buy
