Does what it’s supposed to do.
Our favourite site is always a bit windy being on the coast so I have always been a bit reluctant to use the Sun Canopy. The other week I saw one in use and watched it perform in the wind so I bought one, tried it and it held the canopy firmly to the ground then a storm hit, it didn’t move but the noise of the material against the frame made me decide take it in as I was trying to get to sleep. Fiamma living in the past
Fiamma have a strangely old fashioned approach to things the tie down undoubtedly works and fixes the awning down really well the problem is that each strap consists of four separate parts that just hook to each other and so as soon as you take the tension off the strap they fall to the ground in separate bits and have to be reconstructed and held under tension until fitted to the awning which is an inconvenience when it’s a sunny day, a pain in the ass if it’s raining and really scary for your really expensive awning if it’s a bit blowy. They add a lot more stability
Previously when using our awning we had experienced quite a lot of flapping in the wind and instances where it got into a bit of a mess These straps help keep the canvas tight. Strong and durable
Excellent product to stabilise awning. Instructions could be better. First attempts to install failed because tried to fit hooks to trailing edge of canopy fascia rather than in groove at front. Best price that I could find for the tie down kit. This kit is essential if you want to be able to leave your Fiamma awning extended and unattended, as without being tied down, any wind can blow the awning up and over the roof of your motorhome.
