  • Great oil for classic cars

This is the perfect oil for pre-1970 classic cars. When I bought my 1961 MGA, it had been filled with modern semi-synthetic oil and the pressure was very low when the engine was hot. The low detergent Castrol XL was the correct viscosity as originally recommended and improved oil pressure significantly (although I also did an engine and cooling system flush).

  • Castrol XL 20w/50w

There are so many variations in engine oils out on the market, I would find difficult to make a correct selection. However selecting a brand that has such a pedigree and being advised by my trusted motorcycle restorer, was more than enough to me. The tin makes me think of the 1960's when most goods were genuine and made in England.

  • Great oIl for Classic Cars

Great oil for older engines. Modern oil sometimes too thin but Castrol Classic thick enough to lubricate the wider tolerances of older and worn units and keep oil pressure higher.

  • Clsssic Oil for classic car.

Product is good. The can has a very vintage look. Some small dents in the can most likekly due to poor handling conditions by carrier. Otherwise everithing OK.

  • An excellent Classic oil.

This, in my opinion is the best oil you can use in the combined engine & gearbox of classic Minis. I own a classic Mini & it was the oil of choice of the works Rally Minis in the 1960's. With that kind of recommendation I have never had any doubts about using it.

  • Oil for the older mechanical engine

I have an older motorcycle 1969 650cc BSA, and after rummaging around and reading articles found that the grade best suited is a mineral oil grade 20w-50. The age of the vehicle means the engine is more suitable to slighly higher viscosity. Also detergents added to fuels etc are better suited to newer mechanics. Seals are a bit more relaxed on older vehicles and there is a tendency for leaks? Due to the grade we should steer clear of the said problems.

  • Classics that require a 20/50 - none better.

Have used it exclusively since a complete engine rebuild on my Rover P6 3500 S now some 12,000 miles ago, and for some 20 years before with never a hint of a problem between oil changes.

  • Good choice for classic cars

Excellent mineral oil for classic car engines. I feel confident using this in my 50 year old high performance classic car

  • 36 years and still going!

As 20/50 GTX seems to have disappeared, this is the obvious substitute. Face it, it says CASTROL on it - liquid engineering. I've used it in my Corvette for 36 years and will continue to do so as long as I can.

  • Still the stabdard

Why risk your classic or vintage vehicle with other oils? Doesn’t make sense. Castrol have a century of experience and technical knowledge - which its representatives have always been keen to share - aiding today’s vintage owners to maintain vehicles in the best condition.
