Good sound, better than expected, small unit around 10 inches by 6-ish, medium tablet sized if you like. Roberts is a good brand anyway, even their cheaper gizmos have useful value. 50 hours per AAA x4 ( 4 hours daily, approx). Posh telescopic aerial included.

After the power cuts we had this winter I wanted a small, battery powered, non digital radio to keep in contact with the world when the digital system stops due to lack of power. This radio appears to be a simple radio with FM, AM and LW. It picks up FM and LW really well. We always had issues getting FM but this radio seems much better than previous radios we had. The clarity of LW is good also and it doesn't seem to suffer from to much interference from other devices (microwaves and fluorescent lights etc.).

I bought this for my mum who has recently found that her previous roberts radio was loosing volume all the time so we thought we would invest in another one and it’s brilliant! Just like the previous one exactly the same model so familiar to my mum and she finds it easy to use . Great value for money .

Fulfils description and replaces the same model bought several years ago. Best feature is LW so I can get Radio BBC 4-Today programme.on LW which enables the batteries to last much longer than on VHF.
