Hi all, well, calling this one done. Before starting this, Outof all the AIP kits, this has to be the worst. Firstly the motor is too loud for the kit, and no amount of grease will stop the horrendous cog turning sound. The top of the kit is supposed to just click in, so you can access the battery, but doesn’t sit well , with gaps showing in place’s. The wheat bulb, should have been an LED. Now! the idea of attaching the second pole to the stand and having it turn the model is good in theory but practically, with the weight of the kit on the pole, and even with a magnet in the base, it makes the whole thing unstable. Personally, I think the motor and gear rotation idea was an afterthought, to justify the high price of this kit, as on its own there really isn’t that much plastic. The best part of this build has got to be the miniature Thunderbird 3. If you are considering getting this kit, then, in my opinion, you will be disappointed and feel ripped off. But that is just my opinion! not a recommended kit in the thunderbird range from AIP.
