UNDERRATED!!!!
This is one of the most underrated movies ever! I saw it when it was originally released and thought the same thing then. the story engages you from the get go and teases you until the surprising twist ending that NO ONE can see coming. if you love Agatha Chrisite you will love this. Miss Marple and Poirot couldn't figure this one out. and you are given clues from the get-go. it is also a wonderful and clever funny Black Comedy in the truest sense of the word. Angela Lansbury, Michael York are perfection as is the entire cast (including the minor characters and the totally authentic extra villagers) and young brilliant Jane Carr (who almost stole JEAN BRODIE from the great Maggie Smith) almost steals this one again from brilliant Miss Lansbury. notice I said ALMOST. the Direction by Harold Prince, the Production Design, and Florenze Klotxe's Costumes for Lansbury's Countess are also perfection! and who can resist that Castle! get this BluRay! you will watch it over and over! this is indeed SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!
